Disaster Preparedness and Response

Disaster Preparedness and Response

At Estes, we believe it’s both an honor and a responsibility to support the communities we serve—especially in times of crisis and catastrophe. That’s why we’re proud to assist with the preparation and response to major disasters by delivering relief to affected areas, and working closely with government agencies and humanitarian organizations, including:

  • The Department of Defense (DOD)
  • The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)
  • The General Services Administration (GSA)
  • The Transportation Security Administration (TSA)
  • The American Red Cross
  • State Emergency Divisions

Estes is an approved carrier for the DOD, FEMA, and the GSA. And we’re proud to be one of the first major LTL carriers in the nation to meet TSA safety requirements for delivering freight to outbound commercial or cargo aircraft. Our robust fleet and vast transportation network have also made it possible for us to:

  • Deliver Meals Ready to Eat (MRE’s) to local food banks and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE’s) to front line healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic
  • Transport vital supplies from FEMA warehouses during catastrophic weather events including Hurricane Sandy, Hurricane Maria, and devastating wildfires
  • Provide outreach to active duty service members in disaster-relief zones by delivering care packages and supplies
  • Work alongside the American Red Cross to build and manage emergency supply chains in times of national and international crisis

As the largest privately held carrier in the nation, Estes is proud to be able to draw upon the resources, flexibility, and global footprint we’ve built over the last nine decades to give back to our communities in times of need.
